Arvind Kejriwal Demands Immediate Action on Education Crisis, condoles death of Indian Student in US.

Arvind Kejriwal, the national convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and former Chief Minister of Delhi, on Sunday expressed deep concern over the growing trend of Indian youth being compelled to move abroad due to inadequate educational facilities and opportunities in India.

This statement came after the tragic death of an Indian student in Washington DC, who was shot dead in the United States.

Kejriwal described the incident as "very sad," highlighting a concerning pattern in which several Indian youths have lost their lives in foreign countries in recent months.

He referred to the situation as a "matter of great concern," underscoring the need for the government to take immediate steps to address the root causes of these tragedies.

In his post on social media, the AAP leader pointed out that many young Indians are “forced to go abroad” in search of better education and job opportunities due to the shortcomings of the Indian education system.

He emphasised that, if the country provided high-quality education and employment prospects, students would not feel the need to leave their homeland in search of a better future.

Kejriwal's statement came just a month after another Indian student was tragically murdered in Chicago. The Consulate General of India in Chicago expressed its shock and sorrow over the incident, urging for immediate action against the culprits.

The consulate also assured the victim's family and friends that all necessary assistance would be extended to them during such a difficult time.

Adding to the grief, on December 13, the Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson, Randhir Jaiswal, expressed condolences for the deaths of three Indian students who were murdered in Canada.

Jaiswal confirmed that the Indian High Commission in Ottawa and the consulates in Toronto and Vancouver were actively in touch with the families of the victims, as well as local authorities, to ensure that thorough investigations into the murders were conducted.

The recent spate of tragic deaths of Indian students abroad has intensified discussions around the education system in India and the need for better opportunities.

Kejriwal’s statement calls for immediate attention from the central government to improve educational infrastructure and create a conducive environment that encourages young Indians to pursue their ambitions within the country itself, rather than feeling compelled to leave.

The deaths of these students abroad serve as a stark reminder of the challenges faced by young people today. Many are left with no choice but to seek a better life overseas, where they are often exposed to the dangers of foreign environments.

The Indian government’s role in addressing these systemic issues becomes more urgent as the country continues to grapple with the growing number of youth choosing to leave.
