The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), led by Arvind Kejriwal, has launched its election campaign song titled “Fir Layenge Kejriwal” in preparation for the upcoming assembly elections.
The 3:29-minute song highlights the party’s various welfare schemes and targets the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Congress, accusing them of spreading misinformation about the AAP.
According to the song, Kejriwal has been working tirelessly for the people of Delhi, overcoming several obstacles along the way.
At the launch event held at the AAP headquarters, Kejriwal described the election season as a celebration and a time of great enthusiasm. Reflecting on the release of the campaign song, he recalled that this was the third such song in AAP’s history.
The first was released ahead of the 2015 assembly elections, followed by another in 2020. He mentioned that he had received numerous calls from people eager to know when the song would be released, further emphasising the excitement surrounding it.
The campaign song itself praises the AAP for its welfare initiatives, such as providing free electricity and water, as well as offering ₹2,100 per month to women and free medical treatment for the elderly.
The lyrics also assert that Kejriwal is a "magician" who is able to save funds in infrastructure projects to allocate more money for these welfare schemes. The message aims to strengthen the party's image as one that prioritises public service.
In the video accompanying the song, Kejriwal is shown leading rallies and road shows, as well as engaging with the public.
There are also images of the progress Delhi has seen under AAP’s leadership, such as new school buildings, updated hospitals, modern roads, and the introduction of swimming pools in schools.
The video also features notable moments, such as a visit by the wife of the former US president to a Delhi government school. These visuals are intended to highlight the development work undertaken by the party.
The song is not only a part of AAP’s election campaign but will also be a key feature at all party rallies, political events, and social media platforms as they continue their campaign for votes.
Kejriwal has asked AAP volunteers to spread the word about the song and share it with their networks. The party expects the song to gain significant traction, much like its previous songs, “Paanch Saal Kejriwal” from the 2015 elections and “Lage Raho Kejriwal” from 2020.
Saurabh Bharadwaj, an AAP minister, expressed confidence that “Fir Layenge Kejriwal” would go viral, just as the previous campaign songs did. This belief stems from the growing support for the party’s welfare policies and the momentum of its election campaign.
By combining a catchy tune with a clear message of social welfare, the song aims to energise AAP’s voter base and rally support for Kejriwal’s leadership in the upcoming assembly elections.
