LG Sinha flags off first batch of Amarnath Yatra pilgrims

Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha flagged off the first batch of devotees for the pilgrimage to the holy cave of Shri Amarnath from Bhagwati Nagar Base Camp in Jammu today. The Lieutenant Governor extended his best wishes to all the pilgrims for a safe and blissful journey.

J&K LG Manoj Sinha flagged off first batch of Amarnath Ytra pilgrims from Jammu on Wednesday


Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha flagged off the first batch of devotees for the pilgrimage to the holy cave of Shri Amarnath from Bhagwati Nagar Base Camp in Jammu today. The Lieutenant Governor extended his best wishes to all the pilgrims for a safe and blissful journey.

 

It was spiritual biss all around in wee hours of Wednesday  amid the chants of ‘Har Har Mahadev’ and ‘Bam Bam Bhole’ -religious slogans pilgrims raise en route entire yatra .“Flagged off first batch of pilgrims of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2025 from Bhagwati Nagar Base Camp. Wishing all spiritual seekers a safe & comfortable journey to the holy abode of Lord Shiva and deeply soul-stirring experience. Prayed to Baba Amarnath for peace & blessings to all," the office of LG said in a post on X.

 

The 38-day pilgrimage to the 3,880-metre-high holy shrine will commence on July 3 from the Valley via the twin tracks — the traditional 48-kilometre Nunwan-Pahalgam route in Anantnag district and the shorter (14 kilometres) but steeper Baltal route in Ganderbal district. The yatra will conclude on August 9.Before the flag-off ceremony , LG Sinha offered prayers at the Yatri Niwas base camp. The devotees will be ferried to the twin base camps of Pahalgam and Baltal amid heavy security escort, traffic restrictions and area domination along the Jammu-Srinagar national highway, the officials said.


Speaking on the arrangements, LG Sinha said, “Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board has made excellent facilities for the Yatra. Jammu and Kashmir Police and security forces have also maintained tight security. Devotees from all over the country are here. The enthusiasm is very high. The devotees of Bholenath have neglected all the terror attacks and have reached in huge numbers. I am hopeful that this year’s Yatra would be even better than the previous ones…"


“This sacred pilgrimage is a journey of faith and self-discovery. Wishing all spiritual seekers a safe and comfortable journey to the holy abode of Lord Shiva and deep soul-stirring experience,” the Lieutenant Governor said.Interacting with the media persons, the Lieutenant Governor said the administration, people of Jammu & Kashmir,  Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board, J&K Police, and security forces have made elaborate arrangements for the pilgrims.

 

“More than 4,500 devotees set off to the holy Cave Shrine in the first batch for the darshan of Baba Barfani today. Jammu city has come alive with a new vibrancy. The enthusiasm of pilgrims is very high.Undeterred by terror incidents, devotees of Bhole Baba are arriving in huge numbers, demonstrating their immense faith. I hope that this year's Yatra will be even more historic than previous years,” the Lieutenant Governor said.

 

Eminent spiritual leaders; heads of religious organizations; public representatives; senior officers of civil administration, Police, security forces and Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board, prominent citizens, and devotees in large number were present at the Flag-off ceremony.


Later in the the District Administration of Ramban district warmly welcomed the first batch of the Amarnath Yatra pilgrims at a ‘Langar’ site in Chanderkote.
