Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Madan Rathore has been re-elected as the president of the party’s Rajasthan unit.
The announcement was made on Saturday at the BJP state office, where he was elected unopposed in the presence of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma.
Former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, serving as the election officer, also congratulated Rathore on his victory.
Speaking to reporters before the official announcement, Rathore emphasised the unity of the party and credited his political values to the BJP and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). “Our organisation is united and will stay united. I got my values from RSS and BJP,” he said outside the party office.
Party leaders and workers expressed confidence in Rathore’s leadership, highlighting his role in strengthening the BJP at the grassroots level. BJP MP Damodar Agarwal stated that under Rathore’s leadership, the party would enhance its organisational structure, particularly at the booth level.
“Under the leadership of the new state president, the Rajasthan BJP will move forward at a faster pace and strengthen our network at the booth level. Only one nomination, that of Madan Rathore, was submitted yesterday,” Agarwal said.
Rajasthan’s Deputy Chief Minister Prem Chand Bairwa also extended his congratulations, expressing optimism for the party’s growth. “I would like to congratulate bhai saab (Madan Rathore) and the workers of the party. Under his leadership, the BJP family will progress significantly,” Bairwa told reporters.
Rathore has been an influential figure in Rajasthan politics. He has served as a Member of the Legislative Council (MLC) since 2024 and was elected twice to the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly, representing the Sumerpur constituency from 2003 to 2008 and again from 2013 to 2018.
The re-election process was conducted as part of the BJP’s internal organisational elections. Former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, who arrived in Rajasthan on Friday to oversee the proceedings, stressed the importance of the party’s democratic structure.
“In the BJP, the focus is on the entire organisation. Being the largest party in the world, the BJP organises elections from the booth level to the national president, ensuring that all party workers have a role in the process,” Rupani said.
