Climate activist Sonam Wangchuk and actor Prakash Raj on Sunday backed the Cockroach Janta Party's (CJP) campaign over alleged examination irregularities, including the NEET-UG paper leak, as protests and mobilisation events were held in Amritsar, Hyderabad and Bengaluru, while organisers prepared for a major rally in Jaipur on Monday.

The youth-led movement has been demanding accountability over alleged irregularities in competitive examinations and broader reforms in the education sector. Organisers said the campaign would continue to highlight issues affecting students and job aspirants, including paper leaks in recruitment examinations and concerns over transparency in the examination system.

Demonstrations and public mobilisation programmes were organised in several cities on Sunday. CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke led a protest in Amritsar, while Wangchuk joined students and activists at Dharna Chowk near Indira Park in Hyderabad.

Addressing protesters, Wangchuk said the demand for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan was only the beginning and called for wider systemic reforms.

“Education is the first thing one needs. One has to change the system, improve the nizaam, so that there is justice in education, for everyone,” he said.

The activist stressed the need to ensure fairness and transparency in education and urged young people to continue raising their concerns through peaceful democratic means. He also reiterated his commitment to the movement, saying he was prepared to undertake a prolonged hunger strike if necessary.

“I don’t like protest but we have to do it for justice,” he said.

Prakash Raj joins Bengaluru mobilisation

In Bengaluru, actor Prakash Raj expressed solidarity with the campaign and joined a gathering at Freedom Park. He said the movement reflected the concerns of students and young people seeking accountability from authorities.

The protests come days after the CJP's first major demonstration at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on June 6, where students demanded action over alleged examination irregularities and reforms in the education sector.

The next major mobilisation is scheduled at Jaipur's Shaheed Smarak on Monday. Organisers said the rally would focus on issues such as youth unemployment, alleged paper leaks in recruitment examinations and concerns over the functioning of educational institutions.

CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke, national spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka, Wangchuk and several activists are expected to participate in the Jaipur event.

With support from public figures such as Wangchuk and Raj, the movement has continued to attract attention across multiple states, with organisers insisting that their campaign is aimed at securing long-term reforms and restoring public confidence in examinations and recruitment processes.
