According to sources, the meeting was organised to brief the leaders on ‘Operation Sindoor’ and India’s wider security strategy amid recent developments.
"A meeting would be convened to brief the leaders about India's strike on terror camps in Pakistan, Operation Sindoor and understanding on cessation of hostilities. All the Chief Ministers and Deputy Chief Ministers have been invited for the meeting. This will give a strong message in terms of national security," a source familiar with the matter informed.
The gathering is being viewed as a concerted effort to reaffirm the NDA government’s position on national security and present a unified front following India’s counter-terror strikes across the border.
The meeting would be taking place a day after the 10th Governing Council Meeting of NITI Aayog, also chaired by PM Modi, at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, on the theme ‘Viksit Rajya for Viksit Bharat @2047’.
