NDA allies to hold joint conferences across Bihar seats.

Gearing up for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections, all National Democratic Alliance (NDA) allies will jointly hold conferences across all 243 Assembly constituencies from August 23, according to sources.

As per the sources, 14 joint teams of NDA leaders have been constituted to conduct these conferences. The NDA in Bihar includes the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Janata Dal (United) and Lok Janshakti Party (Ramvilas).

Bihar is set to go to Assembly polls later this year, though the Election Commission of India (ECI) has not yet announced the dates.

Meanwhile, the opposition INDIA bloc is carrying out the ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ in Bihar, a 16-day campaign aimed at highlighting alleged voter suppression and electoral manipulations by the BJP and the ECI through the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday led the third day of the Yatra from Gayaji. Addressing a gathering in Nawada, Gandhi reiterated his charge of “vote theft” and alleged that the BJP and ECI were working in partnership.

“There are lakhs of people in Bihar who voted, and their names were deleted from the voter list. There is a partnership going on between the Election Commission and the BJP. They are together stealing votes. This is your right, and the Constitution gives you this. You fight for this, work hard, and Narendra Modi, Amit Shah and the Election Commission are snatching it from you. I, Tejashwi and the rest of the leaders here are standing up and telling them that we will not let you steal even a single vote of Bihar,” Gandhi said.

The ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ began on Sunday from Sasaram and will culminate in Patna on September 1, after covering more than 1,300 kilometres across over 20 districts.
