AISA student leader Neha Bora has approached the Delhi High Court against a notice issued by the Delhi Police requiring her to execute a bond of Rs. 10,000 along with a surety to maintain peace during the period of inquiry.
Bora’s legal team is seeking an urgent hearing before the vacation bench. She was detained on Friday evening while participating in a protest march at Mandi House and was released the following morning.
The Delhi Police said Bora was released after completion of formalities under Section 65 of the Delhi Police Act.
In a separate case linked to the protests, CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke was placed under preventive arrest under Sections 126 and 170 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS). Police cited apprehension of a breach of peace. Dipke was released by the Special Executive Court on Sunday evening.
The detentions took place during demonstrations by opposition parties, student groups and civil society organisations against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR). The protesters have said the exercise could result in eligible voters being disenfranchised.
