Ahead of the test, the NTA has cautioned candidates against trusting individuals or groups claiming to have prior access to the NEET UG question paper.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has launched a dedicated online portal to enable students and the public to report fake claims regarding the upcoming NEET UG 2026 re-examination. The initiative forms part of a broader effort by authorities to curb the spread of misinformation and guarantee a fair examination process.

The re-examination is scheduled to take place on June 21, and officials have strongly advised candidates to remain vigilant against misleading posts and messages circulating on social media and messaging platforms. Ahead of the test, the NTA has cautioned candidates against trusting individuals or groups claiming to have prior access to the NEET UG question paper. Officials noted that deceptive posts frequently surface in the run-up to major examinations, causing unnecessary confusion and anxiety among students.

The agency has urged candidates to rely exclusively on official announcements and notifications published through the NTA's authorised channels. Students have also been encouraged to use the new portal to report any suspicious online claims immediately.

The introduction of this portal is part of a series of measures aimed at safeguarding the integrity of the medical entrance examination. Authorities have already implemented enhanced security protocols for the re-exam, including stricter monitoring of online activity and closer coordination with law enforcement agencies. Given that hundreds of thousands of students are expected to sit the test, officials believe public participation will be vital in identifying and halting the spread of false information. The NTA has reiterated that strict action will be taken against anyone found spreading rumours or attempting to compromise the examination process.

Meanwhile, the Telegram app has been temporarily restricted in India ahead of the re-examination over viral allegations of paper leaks sourced from the app.

As Telegram channels flooded students with claims of leaked question papers and claims of guaranteed access to the exam, the NTA has now issued its strongest statement yet, explaining why Telegram access has been temporarily restricted in India and why one of the platform's most-used features has been disabled.
