Hamza Burhan, one of the men responsible for the 2019 Pulwama attack, was killed by unknown gunmen in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (POK), as per reports. The 2019 attack had left over 40 CRPF personnel dead.
Burhan is also known as ‘Doctor’ and was designated a ‘terrorist’ by the Indian Union Home Ministry in 2022. Following the attack, he sustained multiple bullet injuries.
Hailing from Kharbatpora in Ratnipora, Pulwama, Burhan left for Pakistan in 2017 using higher studies as a cover. Once there, he defected to the banned terror outfit Al-Badr, where he rapidly advanced to the position of commander.
