Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday alleged that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) tried to sow discord between the people of Delhi and Haryana, saying that such divisive politics has now been rejected by the electorate across the National Capital Region.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of two national highway projects in the capital, Modi said the people of Delhi, Haryana and Rajasthan had placed their faith in the Bharatiya Janata Party and “freed Delhi-NCR from such negative politics”.
“However, there are some political parties that are still unable to digest the people's blessings. They have become completely disconnected from the people's trust and ground realities. You may recall that a few months ago, efforts were made to create hostility between the people of Delhi and Haryana, pitting them against each other. It was even said that the people of Haryana were poisoning Delhi's water. Today, Delhi and the entire NCR have been freed from such negative politics,” he said.
Launching a sharp attack on the previous Congress government in Haryana, the Prime Minister claimed that recruitment processes were tainted by corruption. “There was a time in Haryana, during the Congress governments, when it was difficult to get even a single appointment without spending money or using influence. But in Haryana, the BJP government has given lakhs of youth government jobs with complete transparency. Under the leadership of Nayab Singh Saini ji, this process is continuing...,” he stated.

The Prime Minister inaugurated two major national highway projects, the Delhi section of the Dwarka Expressway and the Urban Extension Road-II (UER-II), with a combined cost of nearly ₹11,000 crore.
The 10.1-km Delhi segment of the Dwarka Expressway, built at a cost of ₹5,360 crore, will connect Yashobhoomi, the Blue and Orange metro lines, the upcoming Bijwasan railway station and the Dwarka cluster bus depot. The stretch comprises a 5.9-km package from the Shiv Murti intersection to Dwarka Sector-21 and another 4.2-km package linking Sector-21 to the Delhi–Haryana border.
The Prime Minister also opened the Alipur–Dichaon Kalan stretch of UER-II along with direct links to Bahadurgarh and Sonipat, developed at an estimated cost of ₹5,580 crore. This is expected to ease congestion across Delhi’s Inner and Outer Ring Roads and reduce traffic at busy junctions such as Mukarba Chowk, Dhaula Kuan and the NH-09 corridor. The new spurs are intended to improve industrial connectivity and accelerate the movement of goods throughout the NCR.
