PM Modi, NDA leaders hold crucial strategy meet in Delhi

During an NDA parliamentary party meeting held at the Parliament Library Building in New Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the members of the ruling alliance on Tuesday. According to sources, Modi told the meeting that the Opposition made a 'mistake' by insisting on a parliamentary discussion about Operation Sindoor, a military operation launched in May to target terrorist sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

Sources indicated that the Prime Minister asserted the Opposition 'shot itself in the foot' and got 'thrashed badly' during the debate in the Monsoon session of Parliament. He characterised the Opposition's insistence on the discussion as a form of 'self-harm.' This meeting was the second of its kind for the NDA since the government was formed in June last year.

The NDA MPs used the meeting to felicitate PM Modi for his 'exceptional leadership' during the government's response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, which was followed by the launch of Operation Sindoor on May 7. A resolution passed by the NDA MPs praised Modi's 'unwavering resolve, visionary statesmanship and resolute command,' stating that it 'ignited a renewed spirit of unity and pride in the hearts of all Indians.'

The resolution also paid tribute to the 'unmatched courage and unwavering commitment' of the Indian armed forces, noting that 'their courage highlights their unflinching devotion to protecting our nation.' The NDA MPs also extended their condolences to the 26 people who lost their lives in the Pahalgam attack, describing the incident as having 'saddened and enraged everyone.'

The resolution highlighted that Operation Sindoor was a 'non-escalatory, precise and targeted attack' on terrorist training camps. It stated that the operation "resonated with India's commitment to peace, zero tolerance towards terror and commitment to do whatever it takes to uproot terrorist infrastructure if circumstances so demanded."

Additionally, the NDA MPs lauded PM Modi for the government's global outreach efforts following the operation. They noted that the Prime Minister ensured 59 Members of Parliament from various parties visited 32 countries to 'present India's point of view.' This, they said, was "one of the most comprehensive global outreach ever launched by India, highlighting how the country has been a victim of terror and why a terror attack in any one part of the world is a crime against humanity across the globe."
