Bihar Police have increased security across the state ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit. The move follows the recent terrorist attack on tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir.
This is PM Modi’s first visit to Bihar after the Pahalgam incident. The state is on high alert. The Prime Minister is expected to announce strict action against the group behind the attack.
PM Modi will attend a function in Patna. There, he will launch new development projects and flag off trains. He will then visit Jhanjharpur in Madhubani district to speak at a rally for Panchayati Raj Diwas.
Director General of Police (DGP) Vinay Kumar confirmed a statewide alert. He held a security review meeting with top police officers. All sensitive areas are now under close watch.

Special attention is being given to the Indo-Nepal border. Madhubani shares a border with Nepal. Police fear the porous border could be used by terrorists to cross into India.
Police outposts along the border have been placed on maximum alert. Intelligence officials are monitoring all cross-border movements. Airports and major tourist destinations are also being heavily guarded.
Security has been tightened at sites like Bodh Gaya, Rajgir, Vaishali, Patna Sahib, and the Hanuman temple near Patna Junction.
The Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), which guards the Nepal border, has increased vigilance. Senior officers from India and Nepal have held talks to prevent any cross-border threats.
The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) has issued special instructions. It has advised the Bihar government to limit public interactions during Modi’s visit. A planned felicitation event has been cancelled.
Modi has also cancelled his visit to Kanpur in the wake of the terror attack.
With elections approaching, authorities are not taking any risks. Security forces are working round the clock to ensure public safety. Police and intelligence agencies remain on high alert across the state.
The focus is on preventing any disruption during the Prime Minister’s one-day tour.
