Prasar Bharati’s radio wing, Akashvani, has launched ‘Kumbhvani’, an FM channel dedicated to the Maha Kumbh 2025. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the channel during his Prayagraj visit.
Broadcasting on 103.5 MHz, ‘Kumbhvani’ will operate daily from 5:55 am to 10:05 pm until 26 February. The channel aims to provide comprehensive information about the Maha Kumbh, particularly to remote areas where physical attendance may be challenging.
Adityanath remarked, “Kumbhvani will extend the spirit of Maha Kumbh to villages, enabling many to experience its grandeur.”
Highlighting the cultural and spiritual significance of the event, he urged visitors to embrace its inclusive message of unity and harmony.
The Chief Minister expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, and Prasar Bharati for their role in launching the channel. He also recalled Akashvani’s historical connection to Indian culture and traditions, reminiscing about childhood days spent listening to Ramcharitmanas broadcasts.
Prasar Bharati had previously launched similar initiatives during the 2013 and 2019 Kumbh festivals, adapting to the evolving media landscape to ensure even the most distant regions connect to the event.
“The Maha Kumbh is a monumental celebration of Sanatan Dharma’s pride and unity, transcending barriers of caste, gender, and sect,” Adityanath said. He noted the rising interest of international visitors keen on exploring the event’s spiritual depth.
The channel will offer live coverage of Maha Kumbh activities and share religious narratives, ensuring the spiritual essence reaches a wider audience.
Union Minister Dr L Murugan, Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, and other dignitaries attended the launch.
