Things in Parliament on Thursday turned dramatic after a scuffle between BJP and Congress members.

Rahul Gandhi blames BJP MPs for blocking his entry into House.

Things in Parliament on Thursday turned dramatic after a scuffle between BJP and Congress members.

BJP MP Pratap Chandra Sarangi accused Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of having pushed another MP on account of which Sarangi himself suffered injuries. But the Congress outrightly denied this, instead accusing the BJP of obstructing and harassing Gandhi.

Sarangi stated that while this occurred near the stairs during the protests on remarks made by Home Minister Amit Shah regarding BR Ambedkar, Gandhi's deeds brought about a situation where an MP fell upon him and he was injured.

Kiren Rijiju, Union Minister, took the opportunity to blame Gandhi for hitting two BJP MPs, which he claimed Congress resolutely denied.

Gandhi said BJP members tried to block his entry into Parliament and that they had pushed and threatened him as he approached the entrance. He claimed he was exercising his rights in approaching Parliament and accused BJP members of using brute force to block him.

The Congress leader also stressed the larger issue at hand, indicating that the BJP had disrespected the Constitution and denigrated the legacy of Ambedkar.

He noted that on top of this, BJP members had attempted to obstruct the entry of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and other opposition leaders.

Union Minister Kiren Rijiju criticided the incident for Gandhi by saying that he was treating Parliament like his property. It is a call to arms legal and he stated for the record that nobody in the NDA would engage in fist fighting.

Rijiju alleged that the Congress party is trying to disrespect Ambedkar and said that BJP MPs Mukesh Rajput and Pratap Sarangi were attacked during the tussling.

The BJP has since scratched its head, looking at raw video footage of the incident in a bid to substantiate the allegations against Gandhi. From party sources, it was learnt that an FIR can be lodged in case of evidence.

After the event, according to sources, Gandhi went to meet Pratap Sarangi who was attended by doctors at that time. Nevertheless, BJP parliamentarians including Nishikant Dubey condemned him for his alleged activities calling him ‘rowdy’.

Gandhi was described arguing with the BJP members before they physically scuffled and he left the scene.

The Congress also posted its own video which was used to substantiate allegations that BJP MPs had prevented Mallikarjun Kharge and other opposition leaders from entering the House.

They claimed that the footage revealed that BJP members used sticks and banners to stop the opposition MPs including the women leaders.

Members of the Congress branded the BJP as “rowdies” and complained that the ruling party transformed the Parliament into a ‘turf’.” They spiked up their stand for the protection of democratic principles and Ambedkar against what they described as the autocratic approach of the BJP party.
