Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday issued a stern warning to Pakistan, cautioning against testing India’s patience and emphasising that the country is fully prepared to deliver a strong and measured response if provoked.
“India has always acted as a responsible nation, showing great restraint,” Singh said. “We believe in resolving issues through dialogue, but that should not be mistaken for weakness. If anyone tries to take undue advantage of our patience, they must be ready to face a ‘quality response’—as witnessed during Operation Sindoor.”
Operation Sindoor, carried out by the Indian Armed Forces, targeted and destroyed multiple terror camps across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). Referring to the operation, Singh lauded the armed forces for their courage and precision.
“I congratulate our brave forces for the courage they displayed,” he said. “The elimination of terror camps in Pakistan and PoK is a matter of national pride.”
According to the Defence Minister, a total of nine terror camps were destroyed during the operation, resulting in the neutralisation of a large number of terrorists. He praised the high level of precision achieved in the operation, which was executed with minimal collateral damage and no harm to civilians.
“This outcome was possible because our armed forces are not only professionally trained but also equipped with high-quality technology,” Singh noted.

Addressing the National Quality Conclave in Delhi, Singh attributed the military's growing strength to the Modi government's focus on defence self-reliance. “Since 2014, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has placed special emphasis on empowering the defence production sector under the vision of ‘defence sovereignty’,” he said.
He highlighted key reforms, including the corporatisation of ordnance factories, aimed at improving both the quality and quantity of India’s defence manufacturing. “We took several revolutionary steps to modernise our defence sector,” Singh added.
Discussing India’s emerging role as a credible defence supplier, Singh stressed the importance of reliability and performance in gaining international trust. “Brand India should stand for dependability. If an Indian company promises a product with specific capabilities, it must deliver exactly that,” he said. “Buyers should feel confident enough to say: ‘Don’t go for doubt, go for India.’”
Concluding his remarks, Singh assured the nation of India’s unwavering commitment to national security. “No boundary or limitation will prevent us from defending our sovereignty. We are fully prepared to respond responsibly and powerfully. Our growing defence industrial base is giving us unmatched strength,” he said.
