Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Friday made strong remarks against former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, stating that he will have to face the consequences of his actions following a summons issued to him by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB).
Speaking to the media, Chief Minister Gupta asserted that legal accountability was inevitable for those involved in wrongdoing. “Soon all of them will have to appear in court. Arvind Kejriwal will also have to come here from Punjab. Delhi does not need such fugitive leaders. He will have to pay for the misdeeds he has done,” she said, referring to leaders from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
In addition to her comments on the ACB summons, Gupta spoke extensively about her government’s plans for the redevelopment of Delhi. She said the administration is committed to an organised relocation of slum dwellers and is examining successful models from other cities to guide its efforts. “These people (AAP) just wanted political gains and never thought about running the city,” Gupta said. “How will it work if we give houses and still people don’t vacate the slums? Delhi needs a revival. For this, we are also studying the Dharavi model of Mumbai.”

She emphasised that the redevelopment process would be inclusive and considerate of the city's long-term residents. “Delhi's redevelopment will be done in a planned manner. We will not let anything happen to the slum dwellers of Delhi who have been permanent residents here for years.”
Gupta also criticised the previous government's handling of housing, highlighting that 50,000 flats built during their tenure remained unoccupied, despite slum dwellers having deposited money with the government over many years. “We do not intend to demolish anyone's houses but to get them to settle down in an orderly way,” she assured.
As part of her day’s engagements, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta inaugurated the construction work of the Kasturba Polytechnic Institute in Pitampura, marking a step forward in strengthening Delhi’s education infrastructure.
Earlier in the day, Gupta also attended a Yoga, Meditation, and Medical Camp in Shalimar Bagh, held in the lead-up to International Yoga Day. Speaking at the event, she praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for globalising the significance of Yoga. “PM Modi got Yoga Day recognised on the world stage in such a way that every country in the world is adopting Yoga with great affection today. India will be able to prosper only if it remains healthy,” she said, underlining the importance of health and wellness as a national priority.
