Three men on bike inject BJP leader Gulfam Singh Yadav with poison in Sambhal's UP.

BJP leader Gulfam Singh Yadav was killed in a shocking incident in Uttar Pradesh’s Sambhal district on Monday.

Three unidentified men allegedly injected him with a poisonous substance while he was sitting at his farm in Daftara village.

The BJP leader, who had also served as the former regional vice president of the party’s western Uttar Pradesh unit, succumbed to the attack while being taken to the hospital.

According to police, the incident took place in the afternoon when three men arrived on a bike. They greeted Yadav, inquired about his well-being and asked for water.

After drinking the water, they sat beside him as if engaging in casual conversation. Moments later, one of them suddenly injected a poisonous substance into Yadav’s stomach and the trio fled the scene.

Yadav immediately felt uneasy and screamed in pain, which alerted his family and villagers nearby. His son promptly informed the police and rushed him to a local health centre. He was later referred to Aligarh Medical College for further treatment, but he died on the way.

Circle Officer Deepak Tiwari stated that the police had not yet received any formal complaint from Yadav’s family. However, a team has been deployed to investigate the case.

A forensic team collected evidence from the spot, including an empty injection and a helmet.

The police have also sent Yadav’s shoes and glasses for forensic examination. CCTV footage from the area is being examined to identify the suspects.

The post-mortem was conducted at Aligarh Medical College, but the exact cause of death could not be determined. Yadav’s viscera have been preserved for further examination.

Gulfam Singh Yadav was a well-known BJP leader in the region and had contested the 2004 by-election from the Gunnaur assembly constituency against Samajwadi Party’s Mulayam Singh Yadav. His wife has also been a three-time pradhan from Dabhaura Himachal.
