Bhavnagar has been witnessing heavy rain for the last two days. Due to rains, new water has entered the rivers. Apart from this, information about waterlogging has also come to the fore in most areas.
Now an important decision has been taken regarding schools due to heavy rain. Considering the heavy rain and the red alert of the Meteorological Department, it has been decided to keep schools closed on Wednesday (June 18).
Bhavnagar District Collector Dr. Manish Bansal informed that due to heavy rain in Bhavnagar, a holiday has been declared in all schools (including pre-primary to standard 12) tomorrow i.e. June 18, 2025.
It is an appeal to people associated with the education world that all schools will be closed tomorrow. This directive will apply to all private, government and granted schools.

Meteorological Department Forecast
According to the Meteorological Department forecast, a yellow alert has been issued in seven districts of South Gujarat on Tuesday (June 17).
In which heavy rain will be seen in Mahisagar, Panchmahal, Dahod, Chhota Udepur, Narmada, Tapi and Dang districts. Apart from this, a red alert has been issued in several districts of Central Gujarat and Saurashtra.
In which extremely heavy rain has been forecast in Ahmedabad, Anand, Bharuch, Surendranagar, Botad, Bhavnagar, Morbi, Porbandar and Junadh.
In every other district, the Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert and predicted extremely heavy rain.

Orange alert in several districts of Saurashtra
According to the IMD, an orange alert has been issued in 12 districts of Gujarat on Wednesday (June 18). In which an orange alert has been issued in some districts of Saurashtra, South Gujarat and North Gujarat.
In which heavy rain has been predicted in Aravalli, Mahisagar, Dahod of North Gujarat, Dang, Navsari, Valsad, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman of South Gujarat, as well as Porbandar, Junagadh, Gir Somnath, Diu, Amreli and Bhavnagar in Saurashtra.
Apart from this, yellow alert has been issued in 15 districts. In which heavy rain has been predicted in Rajkot, Botad, Surendranagar, Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Sabarkantha, Kheda, Panchmahal, Anand, Vadodara, Chhota Udepur, Narmada, Bharuch, Surat and Tapi.
