Six kidnapped Jharkhand workers rescued in Tamil Nadu

Six workers from Jamtara district in Jharkhand, who were kidnapped for ransom in Tamil Nadu, have been released safely following a joint police operation. In connection with the case, the police have arrested four accused, while three remain at large.

Six Workers from Jamtara Rescued After Kidnap in Tamil Nadu.


Six workers from Jamtara district in Jharkhand, who were kidnapped for ransom in Tamil Nadu, have been released safely following a joint police operation. In connection with the case, the police have arrested four accused, while three remain at large.

 

The Director General of Police, Jharkhand, received information about the incident on July 21 at around 2 pm. According to the report, six workers from the Narayanpur police station area of Jamtara district were being held hostage in Salem district, Tamil Nadu. The kidnappers had demanded a ransom in exchange for their release.

 

On receiving the information, the Jharkhand DGP contacted senior officials of the Tamil Nadu Police and directed immediate action. Police from both states made coordinated efforts and rescued all six workers safely from the Attayampatti police station area of Salem city.

 

The rescued workers are Irfan Ansari, Zaheer Ansari, Arbaaz Ansari, Kismat Ansari, Irshad Ansari and Ulfat Ansari — all residents of Narayanpur, Jamtara district.

 

The arrested accused include Savithvel of Anna Nagar, Anangur; Dharun Kumar of Anna Nagar, Anangur; Naveen of Moddamangalam, Thannerpandhalpalayam; and Sarath of Moddamangalam, Thannerpandhalpalayam.

 

Three other accused — Vasanth of Anna Nagar, Anangur; Surendra of Pulligoundampalayam, Anangur; and one unidentified person — are yet to be arrested.

 

Jharkhand Police said that action is ongoing in collaboration with Tamil Nadu Police to apprehend the absconding accused. The process of bringing all the workers back to Jharkhand has already begun.
