A SpiceJet flight bound for Patna on Thursday was compelled to return to Delhi shortly after departure due to a suspected technical issue detected by the crew.
Flight SG 497, a Boeing 737-8A aircraft, had taken off from the national capital at 9:41 am. Following the identification of the potential glitch, the aircraft was safely brought back to Delhi and has since been grounded for a comprehensive inspection. Technical checks are currently in progress to assess the issue.
To accommodate the affected passengers, SpiceJet is arranging an alternate flight.
This incident follows a similar occurrence two months prior, when another SpiceJet flight was forced to make an emergency landing in Srinagar due to a mid-air technical problem. That flight, which had departed from Delhi, was carrying 205 passengers and seven crew members.
In a related incident in August, an IndiGo flight en route to Dubai was forced to make an emergency landing in Ahmedabad after encountering a similar technical issue. That flight had originated in Surat.
