The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has made the notification for the Combined Higher Secondary Level (CHSL) Examination 2025 official. The notification is on the official website of the Commission, ssc.gov.in. The process of application started on June 23, and the last date is July 18. The deadline and time for the online fee payment is July 19 at 11 PM. The Tier-I test, to be held in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode, will be held from September 8 to 18.
This year, SSC has issued a total of 3,131 vacancies, down sharply from last year's 3,712. The drive will recruit staff in various posts such as Lower Division Clerk (LDC), Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA), Postal Assistant (PA), Sorting Assistant (SA) and Data Entry Operator (DEO).

To be qualified, candidates should have passed Class 12 or an equivalent examination from a board recognised by the state or central government. For the position of Data Entry Operator (DEO)/DEO Grade 'A' in Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, Ministry of Culture and Staff Selection Commission, the candidate should have passed Class 12 with Science stream and Mathematics as a subject.
Age requirement for the candidates is 18 to 27 years as of August 1, 2025, with relaxations in terms of age applicable for reserved categories as per government rules. Applications have to be made through the online mode only. The application fee is ₹100 in respect of general category candidates, whereas candidates from SC/ST/PwD/Women/Ex-Servicemen categories are exempt from payment of any fee.
The hiring procedure involves three phases:
Tier 1: Online objective-type test,
Tier 2 Descriptive and skill-based tests
and Skill/Typing Test (depending on the post)
