Protest Erupts After Udaipur MBBS Student Dies by Suicide.

An MBBS student at Pacific Dental College in Udaipur died by suicide in her hostel room on Thursday night, sparking protests across the campus after a handwritten note was recovered from the scene alleging mental harassment by college staff.

According to police, the student’s roommate discovered her hanging in the room around 11 pm and rushed her to the hospital, where she was declared dead on arrival.

A handwritten note found at the location directly accuses staff members of harassment, claiming there were repeated irregularities in the curriculum schedules, arbitrary failure of students, and frequent demands for money and other favours.

The note further alleges that students who are unable to pay face targeted pressure from the administration.

The tragic death has now triggered outrage among other students. A video that has emerged soon after the incident shows scores of students gathering outside the main gate of the college and on the campus, raising slogans and staging a sit-in protest to demand justice.

Many students blocked the entrance, insisting that authorities take strict action against specific staff members named in the note.

Students accused the administration of creating undue stress by manipulating attendance and examination rules, which they say forces many into distress.
Several protesters claimed that irregularities in marks and unexpected failures are used to extract money from students.

Police personnel from Sukher police station reached the scene to disperse the gathering, but the students refused to budge, maintaining their demand for accountability and a fair investigation.

Senior officers have stated that a probe is underway and the note will be a key piece of evidence. The college administration has not yet issued a detailed response, though local authorities have promised a transparent investigation to determine the veracity of the allegations made in the note.
