After the arrest of ten individuals involved in the Class X board paper leak in Jharkhand, a shocking revelation has emerged. It has been found that some students disguised themselves as labourers to steal the question papers from a storage facility in Giridih district.
Koderma district police arrested six individuals from Giridih on Tuesday in connection with the case. Sources indicate that one of the arrested persons is the mastermind behind the paper leak.
According to reports, those arrested admitted to the police that they stole the papers while they were being unloaded from a truck and transferred to the storage facility.
An official, speaking on condition of anonymity, stated that the truck carrying the papers could not enter the premises where they were to be stored.
As a result, an e-rickshaw was used to transport the papers. The question papers were initially unloaded on the road, then loaded onto the e-rickshaw and moved inside the building.
The official further revealed that there were no CCTV cameras in the building where the question papers were stored. However, police personnel and security officers had been deployed to safeguard the location.
Sources also mentioned that the building was used by the Giridih Municipal Corporation, and people frequently visited the lower section to collect bleaching powder.
Following the arrests, the police took all six individuals to the crime scene and escorted them inside the building for further investigation.
Jharkhand Director General of Police (DGP) Anurag Gupta confirmed that ten people, including the main accused, have been arrested in connection with the case. Gupta stated that while unloading the question papers from the truck, one paper was removed using a blade and later circulated online.
The DGP further confirmed that some of the labourers hired to transport the question papers to the strong room were actually students.
The detained students were found to be studying in Giridih. Among them, a student named Kamlesh reportedly sold the leaked question papers to multiple people before the examination, earning between ₹15,000 and ₹20,000.
