Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in his parliamentary constituency on Thursday evening, embarking on a two-day visit packed with inaugurations, public addresses, and development project launches.
On Friday, he will participate in the award ceremony for Sansad Sanskrit Pratiyogita winners at Banaras Hindu University, followed by a "darshan" and "pooja" at the Sant Guru Ravidas Janmasthali in commemoration of the saint's 647th birth anniversary.
In a late-night tweet, the Prime Minister expressed his satisfaction with the recently inaugurated Shivpur-Phulwaria-Lahartara Marg, highlighting its positive impact on the city's southern region.
Taking to X PM Modi expressed, "Upon landing in Kashi, inspected the Shivpur-Phulwaria-Lahartara Marg. This project was inaugurated recently and has been greatly helpful to people in the southern part of the city," the prime minister said in a post on X late on Thursday night.
The afternoon holds the key highlight – a public function where he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for various projects valued at over Rs 13,000 crore. This includes road improvements like the four-laning of key national highway sections, boosting connectivity.
Industrial development receives a boost with the inauguration of an HPCL LPG bottling plant and a milk processing unit, alongside infrastructure enhancements at the UPSIDA Agro Park and a silk fabric printing facility for weavers.
NIFT's arrival in Varanasi promises to strengthen the textile sector's educational and training infrastructure, while the foundation stone for a new medical college and a National Centre of Ageing at BHU underscore the focus on healthcare.

For the famous textiles sector of Varanasi, Modi will lay the foundation stone of a National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) in Varanasi. It will strengthen the education and training infrastructure of the sector, the statement said.
Augmenting the health infrastructure in Varanasi, the prime minister will lay the foundation stone of a new medical college. He will also lay the foundation stone of the National Centre of Ageing at Banaras Hindu University.
The prime minister will also inaugurate the Sigra Sports Stadium Phase-1 and District Rifle Shooting Range.
At the Sant Guru Ravidas Janmasthali temple at Seer Govardhanpur near the Banaras Hindu University, the prime minister will inaugurate a newly-installed statue of Sant Ravidas in the adjoining Ravidas Park.
He will inaugurate various development works around Sant Ravidas Janmasthali, worth about Rs 32 crore, and lay the foundation stone for Sant Ravidas Museum and beautification of the park, worth about Rs 62 crore, the statement said.
