Amit Shah Responds to Congress Video Accusations with Legal Options.

Ambedker political dispute has arisen after Congress accused several of its leaders of receiving notices from the social media web site X, formerly known as Twitter, for carrying out doctored video clips of the Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

The specific video in controversy was about Shah’s speech in the Rajya Sabha on extracting comment on BR Ambedkar, the accomplished father of the Indian constitution. The situation has led to the exchange of blames, counter blames and threats of lawsuits.

The Congress claimed that the notices were sent to the party leaders’ Twitter Accounts in view of certain video clips which they had posted about the mischievous move by Shah distorting facts.

In fact, informants revealed that the notices were prepared in response to an application sent to the Union Home Ministry. Congress came under a lot of criticisms, but it flatly dismissed the allegation of editing the video insisting that the video is original and presented a true picture of what Shah said.

The issue started on Tuesday when Congress uploaded a clip of Amit Shah’s speech in the Rajya Sabha in which he said something about Ambedkar. Shah, using the video, introduced himself and then said, “It has become a fashion to say Ambedkar, Ambedkar, Ambedkar, Ambedkar, Ambedkar, Ambedkar.”

The gods would have got a place in heaven in all seven lives if only they had taken the name of God that many times. Several other political parties and the Congress party criticised Shah’s comment saying he insulted the nation’s icon and architect of the Constitution, Babasaheb Ambedkar.

The Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi was quick to respond to the comment stating that it is a clear shot by the BJP to insult the freedom fighter. This, he said, was BJP’s attempt to rewrite history and downplay the role of Ambedkar in the making of the Constitution.

Gandhi also alleged that BJP seeks to amend the Constitution which has been an artifact of anti- BJP politics by the other political parties. He demanded an apology from Amit Shah for his comments to which Gandhi contended was humiliating dead bodies of Ambedkar.

Congress leaders Mallikarjun Kharge and Priyanka Gandhi also criticised the incident, citing BJP’s disrespect to Ambedkar. Mainstream media also repeatedly accused the ruling party of lacking the most basic respect for the Constitution, its preamble and Savimbi.

The Congress party accused Shah of giving a politically motivated speech with a BJP agenda of defaming Ambedkar’s image by turning his vision into a tool for a political party’s gain.

The BJP, however, came to Shah’s defense, stating that the party was being dishonest unto people, and had edited the entire video. The party with Shah also insisted that the video that Congress has uploaded was doctored and the meaning of his words were taken out of context.

Amit Shah replied to this saying that he would not spare Congress in and out of parliament claiming that Congress was trying to distort facts for its vested interests. Shah, a senior leader of BJP, also cited that he was from a party which always respected Ambedkar and was not a disgrace to him in any way.

In the campaign,Prime Minister Narendra Modi also targeted the Congress party asserting that the opposition party was a master of spreading only ‘malicious lies,’ and that its aim was to put a lid on whatever wrong it had committed.

Modi claimed that the rotten ecosystem within the Congress party had ensured that it did not hesitate to employ what he characterised as ‘malicious’acts. He also stood by Shah pointing to the fact that the Home Minister’s speech had uncovered the Congress party’s “sordid past” of disrespect to Ambedkar.
