Delhi residents can now book liquor online through a mobile application launched by the government ahead of Diwali. The Delhi Liquor Booking app allows users to view available brands, choose bottle sizes and quantities, select a participating outlet and make digital payments.
Developed by the Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (DSIIDC), the service currently covers only liquor stores operated by the corporation. It does not provide home delivery, meaning customers must personally collect their purchases from the store selected during booking.
How the Delhi liquor booking service works
After a booking and payment are completed, the app generates a confirmation along with a unique QR code. Customers must present this code at the chosen outlet, where it will be scanned and verified before the order is handed over.
The service is currently limited to DSIIDC-operated vendors. DSIIDC runs 208 retail outlets across Delhi. Orders must be collected within 48 hours of booking and payment, and customers are required to visit the same outlet selected while placing the order.
Use of the app is restricted to people aged 25 and above, in accordance with Delhi's excise eligibility requirements. The application is currently available only on Android devices.
Bookings can be cancelled before collection. However, liquor cannot be returned after it has been purchased or collected.
