A three-member coordination committee, comprising leaders from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Tipra Motha, and Indigenous People's Front of Tripura (IPFT), has been established for overseeing the Lok Sabha elections in Tripura, a senior party official disclosed on Tuesday.

The newly formed committee consists of BJP State President Rajib Bhattacharjee, Tipra Motha Chief Pradyot Kishore Manikya, and IPFT President Prem Kumar Reang, as confirmed by senior Tipra Motha leader and Forest Minister Animesh Debbarma.

Debbarma emphasised that the decision to constitute the three-member committee was reached during the initial coordination committee meeting held on Monday, with a focus on managing the entire electoral process.

"To enhance coordination with our allies, senior leaders from the ruling BJP, Tipra Motha, and IPFT convened a meeting to chart out a strategic plan for the upcoming elections in the two Lok Sabha seats and the by-election in the Ramnagar Assembly seat," stated BJP State President Bhattacharjee on Tuesday.

The meeting, attended by Chief Minister Manik Saha, State BJP President, Tipra Motha Chief Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma, and IPFT President Prem Kumar Reang, aimed to foster a cohesive approach towards the electoral campaign.

Bhattacharjee affirmed that the BJP-led alliance would conduct a joint campaign across the state, demonstrating unity and solidarity among the coalition partners.

Additionally, the BJP's candidate for the Tripura West Lok Sabha constituency, Biplab Kumar Deb, and by-election candidate Dipak Majumder are scheduled to submit their nomination papers on April 27.

Meanwhile, the BJP-supported candidate for the Tripura East Lok Sabha seat, Kriti Singh Debbarma, will file her nomination on April 28.

"A padayatra will be organised in Agartala on April 27 to commemorate the submission of nomination papers, with the participation of senior leaders from all three parties," Bhattacharjee disclosed.

He further added that a separate rally would be arranged at Ambassa, the district headquarters of Dhalai district, to mark the submission of nomination papers by the BJP-supported candidate for the Tripura East Lok Sabha constituency, Kriti Singh Debbarma, on April 28.
