Preneet Kaur, Lok Sabha MP and former Congress leader switched to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday, March 14.
Kaur, who is the wife of ex-Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh, joined the saffron party at BJP's headquarters.
Kaur was suspended by the Congress in February last year soon after her husband, former Punjab chief minister Amarinder Singh, joined the BJP.
Kaur continues to be a Lok Sabha MP from Patiala. She remained Minister of State for External Affairs from 2009 to 2012 in the Congress-led UPA and was MLA between 2014 and 2017.
