Twelve Bharatiya Janata Party leaders were expelled from Punjab BJP on Tuesday. The leaders were expelled following anti-party accusations against them.
Prominent names among expelled leaders include Bhagat Chunni Lal, father of cabinet minister and Aam Aadmi Party leader Mohinder Bhagat, and the party's Yuva Morcha (BJYM) leader Arjun Trehan.
A few days back, the saffron party expelled six leaders from the party.
The decision was made by the party's Punjab affairs in-charge Vijay Rupani and co-in-charge Narinder Raina, along with other leaders, following a meeting of the party's core committee.
The list of leaders who have been expelled are:
- Anupam Sharma
- Sukhdev Sonu
- Hatinder Talwar
- Hasan Soni
- Dinesh Dua
- Subhash Dhal
- Ajay Chopra
- Pradeep Vasudeva
- Gurvinder Singh Lamba
- Balwinder Kumar
- Inderpal Bhagat
The state is set to undergo civic polls on December 21.
