International cricket is all set to return to the Kashmir valley after more than four decades with 124 star players set to participate in the international Legends League cricket in Srinagar.
The much talked about tournament’s last leg will be played in Srinagar with cricket fans eagerly waiting to see their favourite cricket stars in action.
The co-founder of the LLC, Raman Raheja, while addressing reporters, said that the final leg of the LLC will be held at Baskhi, Stadium Srinagar.
“The football ground has been selected for hosting cricket due to adequate seating capacity.
Though we have had a great response from Jammu and it was expected that the footfall of the fans will be huge, therefore, Bakhshi stadium became an ideal venue as it can accommodate a good number of fans with its improved infrastructure,” he said.
He added that the work related to pitch and ground maintenance has already begun and it would be ready for the cricket soon.
Gujarat Greats mentor and player, Muhammad Kaif and Naman Ojha also accompanied Raheja.
Stars and legends expected to make an appearance in the matches include Shikhar Dhawan, who recently announced his retirement from international cricket, West Indies batsman Chris Gayle, former Indian vice-captain and all-rounder Suresh Raina, with Dinesh Karthik, Ian Bell, Harbhajan Singh and others.
