Afghanistan is set to host Bangladesh for a white-ball series immediately following the conclusion of the Asia Cup on September 28, aiming to fine-tune squads ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. The series will feature three T20Is and three ODIs, all scheduled in the UAE.
The T20I leg will kick off on October 2, followed by the ODI series starting October 8. Afghanistan’s preparation also includes a tri-series against the UAE and Pakistan, marking their first T20I outings this year. Bangladesh, meanwhile, recently completed successful T20I series against Sri Lanka and Pakistan and are set to play a three-match T20I series against the Netherlands before arriving in the UAE.
Naseeb Khan, CEO of the Afghanistan Cricket Board, expressed enthusiasm for the tour: “We are proud to host Bangladesh in this highly anticipated series. This tour highlights the strength of our partnership and our joint commitment to delivering world-class cricket experiences, even in neutral venues. Fans can look forward to exciting matches and top-level competition.”
