Team India celebrates their ICC Champions Trophy victory in Dubai after a thrilling final against New Zealand. BCCI has awarded Rs 58 crore to recognise their remarkable achievement and consistency.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a cash reward of Rs 58 crore for the Indian cricket team following their victorious campaign in the ICC Champions Trophy held earlier this month in Dubai.

Led by Rohit Sharma, India clinched their third Champions Trophy title, defeating New Zealand by four wickets in a hard-fought final.

The financial reward extends to players, coaching and support staff, as well as the men’s selection committee headed by Ajit Agarkar.

However, the BCCI did not provide a detailed breakdown of the allocation.

BCCI President Roger Binny lauded the team’s exceptional performance, emphasising the significance of securing consecutive ICC titles. “Winning back-to-back ICC titles is special, and this reward recognises Team India's dedication and excellence on the global stage,” Binny stated in an official release.

Binny further spotlighted the importance of India’s robust cricketing structure, pointing out that this was the country’s second ICC title in 2025.

“This was also our second ICC Trophy in 2025, following the ICC U19 Women's World Cup triumph, and it highlights the strong cricketing ecosystem in place in our country,” he remarked.

The Champions Trophy victory marked India’s third ICC title in the past eight months, following their triumph in the T20 World Cup last year, where they defeated South Africa in the final.

BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia attributed the success to India’s sustained dominance in white-ball cricket.

“Their dominance in world cricket is a result of years of hard work and strategic execution. This victory has justified India's top ranking in white-ball cricket, and we are sure the team will continue to excel in the years to come,” Saikia said.

India’s campaign in the tournament was marked by consistency and commanding performances.

They commenced their journey with a six-wicket victory over Bangladesh, followed by another six-wicket win against Pakistan.

In the next stage, India overcame New Zealand with a 44-run triumph and later secured a four-wicket win over Australia in the semi-final before lifting the trophy.

Reflecting on the team’s achievement, Saikia stated, “The dedication and commitment shown by the players have set a new benchmark, and we are confident that Indian cricket will keep raising the bar on the global stage.”

BCCI Vice-President Rajeev Shukla praised the players’ temperament under pressure, acknowledging their resilience in high-stakes encounters.

“The players exhibited remarkable composure under pressure, and their success is an inspiration to aspiring cricketers across the country. The team has once again proved that Indian cricket is built on a strong foundation of skill, mental toughness, and a winning mentality,” he said.

BCCI Treasurer Prabhtej Bhatia and Joint Secretary Rohan Gauns Desai also commended the players, reaffirming the board’s commitment to strengthening cricketing infrastructure across the nation.
