The Bengaluru police have denied permission to the victory parade of Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), who had planned the celebratory parade in an open bus after reaching the Garden City at 1:30 pm. Instead of the victory parade, the team will be felicitated at the Chinnaswamy Stadium here from 5 pm to 6 pm.
According to the previous plan, the team’s victory parade was to commence at around 3:30 pm at Vidhana Soudha and reach Chinnaswamy Stadium by 5 pm for a grand ceremony. However, with the police now denying permission for the parade, only the felicitation ceremony will be held at the stadium.
Moreover, the entry to the stadium is restricted and only ticket and pass holders will be allowed. With limited parking at the stadium, the public has been advised to use the Metro and other public transport. It is also understood that the public has been asked to avoid the Central Business District (CBD) area in Bengaluru from 3 pm to 8 pm.
RCB had beaten Punjab Kings by six runs in the IPL final on June 3 to lift the trophy for the first time in 18 years.
