Cricket Australia confirms Indian fan zones sold out.

Cricket Australia said on Saturday that the dedicated Indian fan zones at all eight venues for the upcoming white-ball series against India have sold out nearly 50 days before the opening match, underlining the soaring demand for one of international cricket’s most anticipated contests.

Public tickets for fixtures in Sydney and Canberra have also been fully booked, with Cricket Australia urging spectators to move quickly to secure seats for the remaining matches as they too are selling fast.

“We are thrilled by the overwhelming response to the Indian fan zones selling out across all eight venues,” said Joel Morrison, Cricket Australia’s Executive General Manager, Events and Operations.

“We are excited to see the momentum building around this series and the strong passion fans continue to display for the game. We are looking forward to a vibrant atmosphere in the stands and a world-class contest on the field between two great cricketing nations.”

India’s tour of Australia begins with the one-day international opener on October 19 at Perth Stadium, followed by games at Adelaide Oval on October 23 and the Sydney Cricket Ground on 25 October.

Batting icons Virat Kohli and captain Rohit Sharma are expected to feature in the 50-over format, having stepped away from Tests and Twenty20 internationals.

The ODI series will be followed by five Twenty20 internationals, beginning on October 29 at Manuka Oval in Canberra. The series then shifts to the Melbourne Cricket Ground on 31 October, Bellerive Oval in Hobart on November 2, Gold Coast Stadium on 6 November and The Gabba in Brisbane on November 8.

This season marks the first time that men’s internationals will be staged across all eight Australian states and territories, with Canberra and Hobart both hosting India during the T20 leg.

The last bilateral ODI series between the two teams in Australia took place in 2020-21, when the hosts claimed the series 2-1 before India levelled matters with a 2-1 victory in the T20 internationals.
