After a hiatus of six years, former Commonwealth Heavyweight champion Sangram Singh is set to make his comeback in the ring.
Singh will face Pakistan's Muhammad Saeed in the headline event of the International Pro Wrestling Championship scheduled for February 24 in Dubai.
The championship, offering a prize purse of Rs 3 crore, will feature a lineup of five matches, with Singh's showdown against Saeed being the highlight.
Expressing his enthusiasm for the event, the 38-year-old Singh, who clinched the Commonwealth Heavyweight Championship in 2015 and 2016, emphasized the sport's ethos of sportsmanship and its potential to inspire the youth.
"Competing against Muhammad Saeed, an elite athlete in his own right, will showcase that age is no barrier," he stated, highlighting his aim to promote the FIT India ideology.
In addition to Singh's match, the event will see other exciting matchups, including Ilias Bekbulatov (Russia) facing off against Damon Kemp (USA), and Andrea Carolina (Columbia) taking on Vescan Cynthia (France), among others.
