With five titles under her belt, Chandigarh native Janvi Jindal, 17, has made history by becoming the youngest Indian girl to hold the most Guinness World Records in freestyle skating.

Janvi's remarkable journey is a tale of perseverance, ingenuity, and independence. She practiced at home with makeshift setups and watched YouTube videos to teach herself freestyle skating without any official coaching. She went from local skating sessions to gaining international recognition thanks to her unwavering discipline and determination.

 

Janvi's ability to combine traditional Indian elements with contemporary sport is demonstrated by her signature styles, such as Bhangra on skates and Yoga on skates, which combine culture and athleticism. Her story serves as a potent source of motivation for India's youth, highlighting the triumph of passion and tenacity. After cricket legend Yuvraj Singh, who has two records himself, she is now the second Chandigarh native to enter the Guinness World Records.

Janvi’s five Guinness World Records, officially confirmed in July 2025, include:

• Most 360-degree rotations on inline skates in 30 seconds – 27 spins
• Fastest slalom (20 cones) on two wheels – 8.85 seconds
• Most one-wheeled 360-degree spins in 30 seconds – 42 spins
• Most one-wheeled 360-degree spins in one minute – 72 spins
• Most consecutive one-wheeled 360-degree spins – 22 spins

Janvi credits much of her success to her father, Munish Jindal, who stepped into the role of coach when no professional trainer was available. “Janvi’s training began around five to seven years ago. We couldn’t find a coach, so I turned to the internet, learned everything I could, and trained her myself. It was difficult managing my work while staying up late to understand the techniques,” he said.

Janvi’s achievement is not just a personal milestone but a celebration of talent, self-belief, and the boundless potential of India's youth.
