More than 2.75 lakh devotees have performed darshan during the ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026 in the first 11 days of the annual pilgrimage.

On Monday, 24,259 yatris performed darshan inside the holy cave shrine. Another batch of 5,335 pilgrims left the Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas in Jammu for Valley in two escorted convoys.

A record number of yatris have paid obeisance at the 3,880-metre-high cave shrine despite bad weather conditions. The 57-day annual pilgrimage began on July 3 and is scheduled to conclude on August 28.

Pilgrims are reaching the shrine through the traditional treks 48-km Nunwan-Pahalgam route and the shorter 14-km Baltal route.

The yatra started on both traditional treks - from Nunwan in Pahalgam and Baltal in Sonamarg - with pilgrims chanting religious hymns as they made their way to the cave shrine.

Authorities have put in place multi-layered security arrangements along the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, the twin tracks of Pahalgam and Baltal routes, as well as the holy cave to ensure the safe and smooth conduct of the pilgrimage.

Earlier, on Saturday, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha congratulated and praised everyone involved in the Yatra after the number of pilgrims performing darshan crossed the two lakh mark in just eight days.
