The Delhi Police on Monday nabbed two accused of the Neeraj Faridpuria–Himanshu gang in connection with the firing at YouTuber Elvish Yadav’s house in Gurugram on August 17.
The sharpshooters have been identified as Gaurav Singh alias Nikka (22) and Aditya Tiwari (19), both residents of Faridabad. The police recovered a pistol, four live cartridges, and a mobile phone from them.
According to officials, the two men had tried to escape towards the Indo-Nepal border but were told by their gang leader to return for another assignment in Delhi.
Earlier, on August 22, the Faridabad Crime Branch had arrested another accused in the case, Ishant alias Ishu Gandhi, after an encounter. The police said he fired more than six rounds from an automatic pistol before being injured in the leg and hospitalised.
On August 17, unknown men had opened fire outside Elvish Yadav’s Gurugram home in the early morning hours. His father, Ram Avtar Yadav, said the family was terrified after the incident.
"We heard a sound around 5.30 in the morning. When we came outside and looked, we saw that bullets had been fired here. Then we immediately checked the CCTV. We found that there were two people involved for sure, and probably a third one too. We informed the police. These people fired more than 15 rounds," he said.
Ram Avtar added that Elvish rarely stays at the Gurugram house due to work. “"Elvish comes here rarely. Usually, he stays away due to his work. Elvish is fine, I spoke to him. May God give wisdom to the people who did this. Naturally, we feel scared," he further said.
