The Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) on Friday announced the results of the Civil Services Examination 2023, putting an end to months of wait for the aspirants. A total of 342 candidates have been selected for appointments to various key administrative roles within the state. Ashish Akshat has emerged as the topper, followed by Abhay Kumar in second place and Ravi Ranjan Kumar in the third.
Other candidates who made it to the top 10 include Gautam Gaurav, Shweta, Rahul Kumar Vishwakarma, Robin Kumar, Sandeep Prakash, Swati Keshari, and Rajiv Ranjan.
The selected candidates will be posted across multiple departments such as administration, police, finance, excise, labour, planning, and social security. The Commission has emphasised that the selection was carried out strictly on the basis of merit, performance, and reservation policies.

The declaration of results marks the culmination of a prolonged struggle that included delays, protests, and widespread discontent among aspirants. For many, this result signifies not only a personal achievement but also a hard-fought victory.
Candidates had raised serious concerns regarding the transparency of the selection process — from evaluation methods and answer key accuracy to the prolonged timeline for result declaration.
Protests and demonstrations were held in multiple districts, including Ranchi, Dhanbad, Hazaribagh, and Garhwa. Aggrieved candidates resorted to road blockades, petitions, and intense social media campaigns, demanding accountability and transparency from JPSC.
It was only after sustained pressure and intervention by political leaders and civil society that the commission proceeded to complete the selection process.
A total of 864 candidates who cleared the Mains examination were called for interviews. Out of these, 342 have been finally selected.
The recruitment notification was issued on 27 January 2024, and the preliminary exam was conducted on 17 March. Results for the prelims were declared on 22 April, with 7011 candidates qualifying for the Mains stage.
