Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has cleared Rs 51 crore for the construction, expansion and upgrade of helipads in different parts of the state.
The money will also be used to build supporting infrastructure and improve road connectivity, disaster management, police modernisation, and judicial and prison facilities.
As per a statement from the Chief Minister's Office, Dhami said the government was focusing on better road and air connectivity, security, disaster response and key infrastructure. He said the projects would improve access to remote areas and help authorities respond faster during rescue and relief operations. They are also expected to strengthen policing and administrative services.
Meanwhile, Dhami on Sunday inaugurated Shine AV Learning's Inclusive Education Mission-2030 at a hotel on Rajpur Road in Dehradun, according to a press release.
During the event, the Chief Minister launched visual learning books and other educational material designed for children with special needs.
Dhami said the initiative would help make education more accessible and inclusive. He added that both the Centre and the state government have continued to give priority to the education sector.
Referring to the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Dhami said the policy aims to help children develop critical thinking and innovation skills while building the confidence they need to succeed.
He said the state was working to improve education through smart classrooms, ICT labs, PM SHRI schools, Atal Utkrisht Schools, digital learning resources and science and innovation programmes. To make schools more accessible, the government has also added ramps, railings, accessible toilets, adapted furniture and safe drinking water facilities.
