Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Saturday rejected the Congress’ allegations of ‘vote chori’, calling them baseless. He said people had already dismissed such “lies” and they would not work anymore.

Saini accused the Congress of stalling Parliament during the recent monsoon session and said the Opposition leaders were “frustrated” because Prime Minister Narendra Modi had shut the doors to corrupt practices. “The Congress has no existence. The Congress leaders are frustrated because Prime Minister Modi has shut their corrupt ways,” he told reporters.

He alleged that the Congress often disrespects the Constitution. "It is in the Congress' nature to go against the Constitution. They tear the Constitution written by B R Ambedkar to pieces and then say there is a danger to it," he said.

Reacting to the Opposition's 'vote chori' (stealing of votes) allegations, Saini hit back, saying, "They have been rejected by the country. Their lies will no longer work."

On Opposition protests over electoral roll revisions in Bihar, Saini said the claims of stealing of votes were false. Recently, Rahul Gandhi and other Opposition leaders staged a protest in Delhi, and Gandhi is set to begin a ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ in Bihar on Sunday.

At the same time, Saini praised PM Modi for empowering the poor. “"The Prime Minister has launched several schemes for the progress of every section of  society. Today, the poor are moving forward with confidence and playing an active role in the nation's development," he said.

On law and order, the CM stressed that his government had zero tolerance for crime. He assured that strict action would be taken against anyone disturbing peace, no matter how powerful.

Saini also spoke about his government’s campaign against drugs. He urged citizens to report cases of drug trafficking through the state portal so that strict action could be taken.

Talking about health services, he said new district hospitals with modern facilities were being built so that people did not have to depend on private hospitals. Ten such hospitals would be inaugurated soon, he added.
