Union Home Minister Amit Shah visited Ahmedabad on Sunday to take part in two important occasions: the opening of a new urban health center and a tree planting campaign.
The 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' (One Tree in the Name of Mother) campaign included the tree planting campaign. Shah, along with Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, led the campaign in the Ghatlodia ward of Ahmedabad. This initiative encourages citizens to plant a tree in honor of their mother. The event was organized by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) and took place at the Ayushman Van.
After the tree planting campaign, Minister Shah went to Ahmedabad's Gota ward to open an urban health center. This facility, which was built for ₹3.84 crore, is intended to offer the local population a wide range of health services.

According to an official release, the new urban health centre will offer various services, including:
- Ayushman Bharat-related services: This covers the distribution of ABHA (Ayushman Bharat Health Account) and PMJAY (Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana) cards.
- Maternal and Child Health: The centre will provide services under the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana and Janani Suraksha Yojana. It will also facilitate diagnosis, treatment, and referral services for pregnant women, lactating mothers, and women with gynaecological issues, with specialized care from gynaecologists. Pediatricians will be available for the examination, diagnosis, treatment, and referral of newborns and children. Additionally, the centre will offer vaccination services for pregnant women and children.
- Disease Management: The facility will offer early communicable disease diagnosis, treatment, and referral. Additionally, it will perform screenings and referrals for non-communicable diseases like cancer, diabetes, and high blood pressure.
- Other Services: The centre will support the Mamta Diwas programme, a health and nutrition initiative by the Gujarat government for women and children. It will also cater to maternal and child welfare in both slum and non-slum areas. Additional services include laboratory tests, a pharmacy, and guidance for the diagnosis and treatment of mental health issues.
