Andhra Pradesh is preparing to sign 410 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) worth a staggering ₹9.8 lakh crore at the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Partnership Summit, scheduled for November 14 and 15 in Visakhapatnam.
The mega event, hailed as a curtain-raiser to the state’s ambitious mission for job creation and decentralised development, is expected to generate 7.5 lakh jobs and lay the foundation for projects worth ₹2.7 lakh crore, creating an additional 2.5 lakh employment opportunities.
Addressing the media, Information Technology (IT) Minister Nara Lokesh unveiled the summit’s tagline: “Companies that choose speed, choose Andhra Pradesh.” He described the event as a three-way partnership between people, government, and industry— a collaborative blueprint for inclusive growth, youth empowerment, and global competitiveness.
"This Summit is a partnership among our people, our government, and forward-looking corporates. Every MoU is a commitment to the dreams of our youth. Choose AP means choosing speed, trust, and opportunity grounded in Telugu pride and built for global leadership," said Lokesh.
The Summit will host 300 overseas delegates from 45 countries, including G20 members, and will feature 72 international speakers. Union Ministers confirmed to attend the event include Nirmala Sitharaman (Finance), Piyush Goyal (Commerce), Ashwini Vaishnaw (Railways, I&B, Electronics & IT), Ram Mohan Naidu (Aviation), Annapurna Devi (WCD), and Dr Jitendra Singh (Minister of State, Independent Charge).
The event will feature 48 sessions — one plenary, 27 technical, three standalone, and 11 state-specific sessions — with a strong focus on key sectors such as renewable energy, semiconductors, AI, drones, steel, ports, and agri-tech.
Lokesh also elaborated on the investments already secured namely— ArcelorMittal: ₹1.5 lakh crore for a greenfield steel plant (fast-tracked in 14 months), Google: ₹15 billion for an AI and data hub in Visakhapatnam, BPCL: ₹1 lakh crore for a new refinery and NTPC: ₹1.65 lakh crore for a green hydrogen hub.
