The new semester for the academic year at the Anna University has started from Monday.
The university has directed the deans and head of departments (HODs) to follow necessary preparation works before the commencement of the semester.
Part of the preparation, students have been asked to use bicycles within the campus and food delivery executives will be allowed only till the gate.
Students will be encouraged to use bicycles within the campus and avoid bikes and cars.
As per the notification from Anna University, students are to be informed about the existing street lights and well-lit pathways across the campus at night.
The notification says that the additional lights can be installed as the feedback goes.
Students have been directed to wear identification cards all the time and if forgotten to record their name, register number and entry and exit time with the security personnel.
Additionally, students have been asked to download Kavalan Uthavi App and keep the authorities informed through campus helpline in case of any untoward incidents.
Construction labourers have been not been advised to stay in campus after working hours, arrange local patrolling by security personnel and conduct regular montly meetings with faculty in charge of Prevention of Sexual Harassment (PoSH).
