Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday said that the government has made all arrangements for the smooth and peaceful Amarnath Yatra.
During his media interaction, Omar said that his government is committed and hopeful for a peaceful Yatra, as tourism is reviving in the region after the Pahalgam attack.
Besides Omar, LG Manoj Sinha chaired a meeting with political parties and civil society members and assured adequate security arrangements are in place for Yatris.
He also said that they are now waiting for the Yatris who will be flagged from Jammu tomorrow. “We hope they come in large numbers and pray for their safety,” Omar added.
The Yatra will begin from July 3 in Jammu and Kashmir amid multi-layered security arrangements.
Meanwhile, LG Sinha on Monday informed reporters that all arrangements have been put in place for the safe and smooth conduct of the Amarnath Yatra.
During his interaction with reporters, after chairing a high-level security meeting, Sinha said this year's arrangements are much better compared to the previous years.
He said the security agencies have formed a multipronged plan and are working in close coordination with each other for the peaceful and successful conduct of the 2025 Yatra.
Apart from reviewing the security meeting, he also visited the base camp in Baltal and reviewed the preparedness, including accommodation and health facilities in place.
In a post on X, the Office of LG wrote, “Visited Baltal Base Camp today and reviewed the preparedness ahead of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra. SASB, Admin, Police, Security Forces – all stakeholders have diligently implemented pilgrim-centric measures to ensure the pilgrimage is peaceful, safe & hassle-free for devotees.”
