Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convenor and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, along with his wife Sunita Kejriwal, visited the Golden Temple in Amritsar, Punjab, on Sunday to offer prayers.
He was accompanied by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. Kejriwal’s visit to Amritsar came after he completed a 10-day Vipassana meditation session in Hoshiarpur.
The visit coincided with the completion of the AAP-led Punjab government under Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. On this occasion, Punjab Health Minister and AAP leader Balbir Singh extended his greetings to Mann and highlighted the achievements of the administration.
In a post on ‘X,’ Singh praised the governance model inspired by Arvind Kejriwal, stating that in the past three years, AAP had focused on improving education, upgrading hospitals, expanding primary healthcare through mohalla clinics, providing free electricity, and ensuring corruption-free governance.
He described it as a journey of progress, transparency, and transformation under the leadership of Bhagwant Mann.
Mann assumed office as the 17th Chief Minister of Punjab on March 16, 2022, after AAP secured a landslide victory in the state assembly elections.
The party won 92 out of 117 seats, defeating the incumbent Congress government with a decisive two-thirds majority. AAP also demonstrated its growing influence in the state by securing a majority in Patiala and Jalandhar in the December municipal elections.
However, in the recent Delhi Assembly elections, AAP faced a setback when BJP candidate Parvesh Verma secured a significant victory over Arvind Kejriwal in the New Delhi constituency, winning by over 4,000 votes.
