A balloon bearing Pakistani markings and the acronym "PIA" (Pakistan International Airlines) was recovered on Friday in Suliali panchayat of Kangra district, triggering concern among locals and authorities.
According to police, the balloon was first spotted by a local woman named Sheetal near the Chattri Mata Temple. She immediately alerted her father, who then informed the village head and local police.
The police promptly reached the spot and seized the balloon. Another local resident, Pritam, also reported seeing the balloon earlier in a nearby stream while heading to work.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Vishal Verma confirmed the recovery and said an investigation is currently underway to ascertain the source and motive behind the incident.
