State-owned Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has received a Letter of Intent (LoI) for a significant ₹11,800 crore contract from Chhattisgarh State Power Generation Company Limited (CSPGCL).
The order pertains to the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) of a 2x660 MW supercritical thermal power plant at the Hasdeo Thermal Power Station in Korba, Chhattisgarh.
According to BHEL’s exchange filing, the LoI was issued on March 27, marking a major milestone for the company in the power sector. The project will be executed under domestic competitive bidding, reinforcing BHEL’s leadership in delivering large-scale power infrastructure projects in India.

The contract includes the design, engineering, manufacturing, and supply of key power equipment, as well as the complete erection, testing, and commissioning of the thermal power station.
Additionally, BHEL will supply Flue Gas Desulphurization (FGD) equipment manufactured in-house. The FGD system will play a crucial role in reducing sulphur emissions, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
