Biju Janata Dal leader and Leader of the Opposition, Naveen Patnaik, has been admitted to a private hospital in Bhubaneswar. The veteran politician reportedly complained of uneasiness. He was taken to the hospital for treatment and observation.
Sources say that doctors have conducted preliminary examinations. They are closely monitoring his health, although his health condition is stated to be stable.
"Shri Naveen Patnaik was admitted to SUM Ultimate Medicare, Bhubaneswar, at 5.15 pm today due to dehydration. His condition is stable and he is responding well to treatment," a bulletin issued by the private hospital said.

This is not the first time Patnaik's health has been a concern. He recently had spinal surgery in Mumbai. He spent several days there under specialist care. His hospitalisation has caused concern among his supporters and party workers. Many have gathered outside the hospital to pray for his quick recovery.
News of his illness has sparked widespread concern across Odisha. Many political leaders and citizens have sent their best wishes. Security has been increased at the hospital. This is in anticipation of visits from political leaders and party members.
